Difference Between Speech Therapist and Speech Pathologist

In the old days there was a difference between a speech therapist and a speech pathologist. And yes, it was primarily due to levels of education and depth of study. Most speech therapists only had their BA’s and worked in the school system. A speech pathologist was a person who had their master’s degree and worked in hospitals, clinics, etc.

Now, everyone working in the field is required to have their master’s degree no matter where they work. So, the terms have become inter-changable.
